Professional Background

William A. Pierce, Jr. is a licensed South Carolina Polygraph Examiner and retired Chief of Police with more than 34 years of law enforcement, investigative, and leadership experience. Throughout his career, he has served in patrol operations, criminal investigations, forensic services, crime scene analysis, SWAT operations, and executive law enforcement leadership.

Polygraph Experience

Mr. Pierce completed formal polygraph training at the American International Institute of Polygraph in Atlanta, Georgia, and has been licensed by the State of South Carolina since 2002. Mr. Pierce has conducted thousands of polygraph examinations involving criminal allegations, relationship matters, employment issues, internal investigations, attorney referrals, and pre-employment screening.

His experience includes examinations involving theft, fraud, assault, sexual misconduct allegations, murder, robbery, kidnapping, narcotics investigations, workplace misconduct, and other specific-issue matters requiring objective truth verification.

Education & Professional Training

Mr. Pierce holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Public Administration and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He has completed extensive advanced training in criminal investigations, interviewing and interrogation, forensic science, crime scene reconstruction, leadership, and polygraph examination techniques.

Courtroom & Expert Witness Experience

Mr. Pierce has provided testimony and consultation in criminal, administrative, and employment-related matters. His background as both a law enforcement executive and licensed polygraph examiner provides a unique perspective when evaluating investigative information and assisting clients in resolving disputed issues.
